In the exposition of the transitional, before Peter the Great period there can be seen the pieces of art that contain great Russian, Christian symbols which go back to pagan times and carry the "rudiments" of transitional, crucial meanings: sculptural relief " Archangel Michael trampled the devil., icons "A watchful eye" ("The Saviour of the world"), Alexander Nevsky. What is the common for all these items is the transformation of mystical heavenly space into illusory three-dimensional earthly space. This reflects the cardinal change of the worldview of the Middle Ages and the New times.
